Oh My!

So last night I went with Nancy on her date, I was the chaperon. I did not want to be the third wheel so I brought Baili my 4 year old with me. She was excited to come as I was to have her with me. Well we went and had Pizza for dinner at the pizza joint, when we were all done Nancy's date Joseph gathered up our trash and went to throw it away, as soon as he was out of ear shot Baili turns to me and whispers "Mom I think he is cute, but I do not like his pants." I was cool and said "oh yeah you think so huh?" I really wanted to scream because my 4 year old is already telling me she thinks a BOY is CUTE. Holy smokes I wonder what she is going to be like when she is 14 or 16 ahhhhhhh. Anyways I did think that it was funny, and I still do, it was pretty random. Where did the comment of not liking his pants come from, she must be very fashionable, though he only had on a pair of jeans, nothing fancy. I think that if he had on a dress she would have told me he was stylin, because that's all she wants to wear.

A RECIPE!

OK so I have made this 5 times in a month. It is so delicious, and super easy to make.

Focaccia ( did I spell that right?)Italian Bread
3 1/2 cups Flour
1 Envelope of Yeast, or 2 1/4 teaspoons
1 Tablespoon of Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1/4 cup olive Oil
1 2/3 cups very warm water
2 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, I like it fresh grated
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Mix together flour, yeast, sugar, salt, 2 tablespoons oil, water. Spray bottom of 9x13 pan and spread the dough in it. Let is rise for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes take the end of a plastic spoon or something and poke holes in the dough. Then drizzle the rest of the oil over the dough, sprinkle the Italian seasoning, and the cheese, let rise 15 more minutes while you preheat the oven to 375. Bake for 30 minutes. YUMMMM! Serve with pasta or whatever. Let me know what you think. Again this is so easy to make. Try it.

So here is a conversation that Kristen my almost 3 year old had with me today.

Kristen: Me have baby brother in my tummy?
Me: No you are too little silly.
Kristen: Who does?
Me: Ummm

Kristen: But me not and you not.
Me: That's right
Kristen: When me grow up, me have baby in my tummy.
Me: Oh you will huh?
Kristen: Yep and me get married and dance with the prince.
Me: oh that will be so nice Kristen.
Kristen: Yep and me be at the temple.
My: Oh sister.
Kristen: Me love you mom.
Me: I love you too.

here is the front of the house. We put up skirting around the porch and painted it, it used to be maroon like the family room was. YUCK! Now it is so pretty.

Here is an angle shot of the porch. I loved this porch it was HUGE! It took me forever to paint, but it was so worth it by the way it looks now.

Here is the dining room. this used to be yellow with animal names written on the walls. Something like "And two by two the lion and bears and tigers walked" Don't ask me why they put that on the wall of their dining room.

Here is the finished bathroom tub/shower combo, nice and open.

View from in the bathtub.

Before pic of bathroom taken in the bathtub.

One of the bedrooms upstairs, finished!

Same room before we finished it.

Here is the kitchen with the pass through we put in.

As you can see whe moved the sink to the opposite side of the kitchen.

the old kitchen had a drop down ceiling and they had shingles on it. WEIRD!

Old place where the sink was. The door goes out to a mud room and to the back door.

house flipping

our grand staircase was a most favorite. Its was a very nice feature to the house.

Here is the living room all done. It was a big room

Here is the living room before we finished it

ok so these are all of the before and after pictures from our house. It was a 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bathrooms. The full bathroom was gutted and redone, it was awful it had a claw foot tub with missing claws right in the middle of it so in order to get around it you had to close the door. The kitchen was gutted as well and in that process we found a door frame so we cut it short and made a pass through from the dining room into the kitchen. The we also moved the sink from one side of the kitchen to the opposite side. It looks way better. Everything else is self explanatory.

Fair warning

OK so we are BACK!! We rolled in last Sunday and have settled in. I think. We are house sitting for Jonas' mom and step dad for the winter while they go to Phoenix. They will not leave until the the day after Thanksgiving. So we are having lots of fun sharing their space with them.
Here is the fair warning, I have about a million pictures and stories to post. I will post them as soon as I can but I will also only post a couple at a time, to give you a chance to read them. Here are some topics I will be posting about... Before and after pics of our house in MO, our trip over (which includes like 4 days of activities), Baili's 4Th birthday, and Halloween. It may not seem like much, but it is a lot for me all things considered. Don't miss out, you never know when this will happen again.

still not pictures

OK so I still do not have pictures but here is the latest...
Baili had her primary program on Sunday and she did great! Her line was "I love to hear the stories of Jesus in Primary and in Family Home Evening, they help me choose the right." She said it loud and clear. She even did pretty good at singing the songs, though most of the time when they all stood to sing she would stand up (she was in the front) and then she would turn around and watch everyone else sing. I think she was really enjoying the show. I think that maybe she was mouthing the words "LOUDER" to the other kids so everyone could hear. It wouldn't be to far fetched for her to do that. But she did great and she was a doll. Jonas' grandma came to visit for the occasion and I think she have a good time. We shower her around the place and took her out for frozen custard which I think was her favorite. :)
The house is coming right along. We are done painting and we are now working on getting our hardwood floors prepped for sanding and staining. We think it will be about 3 more weeks before we are ready to put it on the market. Wish us luck!

no pics but lots going on

OK, so first off would everyone just get off my back about not posting for forever!!! Just kidding. I know it has been ages. Sorry. I have had a lot going on, plus I do not have Internet at home so I have to go to the library to do anything, that stinks. So I have no pictures to post today but I thought at least I should post something. So here it goes.
Well ion the beginning of August we bought a house. It was a foreclosure and all it needed was some TLC. So we have been in the process of doing that this whole month in preparation for us to move into it the first of Sept. I will post before and after pictures when I am able to do that. Also this month Jonas' mom and grandson came to visit. They were here for 3 weeks. It was great having them here. Her grandson helped Jonas out a tone with the house, and seemed to have a good time here. While they were here for the 3 weeks I left for one of those weeks to my Siblings reunion. that's right all 10 TEN of us kids plus my mom and dad got together and spent 4 days having a blast and laughing a ton. We tie died shirts went to Lagoon had BBQ went to the temple, took a ton of pictures, and again had a blast.
So that's what has been going on there. While I was at my reunion I stayed a few extra days and spent some time with my Best friend Dedra Tregaskis (I hope I spelled that right) and we went shopping and I played with here beautiful baby Abby. She is a sweetheart for sure. She also introduced my to cake decorating. I have decided to pick up the hobby, and have also decided to start out small and work my way up to cakes. So I got a book )well I should say Jonas got me a book) and my first project was ice-cream cone cup cakes. I made them and then decorated the with a homemade butterfly. Again pictures to come. But it was a success and I loved doing it, so now you know what my new hobby is. I am excited!!!
That is all I have time to write now, but hopefully soon I will write again. Don't give up on me. I will be back.

Seattle to Portland

Well he did it! Jonas successfully finished the 204 mile Seattle to Portland bicycle ride. He has been training for this over the last year or so, every week he would ride at least 100 miles. Then the last 3 weeks he rode 500 miles in preparation for the ride. He left last Thursday evening and stayed in Seattle with his sister Aimee ( hi Aimee) and then got up Saturday morning early and started out with his best friend Wes Perez and 4 other guy friends. On the first day they went 130 miles. Stooped and stayed the night and then did the remaining 75 miles on Sunday. They were done by early afternoon and crashed in bed for the rest of the day and night. He is pretty Amazing, you can say it. I have to say he got a lot of weird looks from people there, questioning looks. But he sure did prove them wrong. There were 9,000 riders that day, Jonas among them. I am so proud of him! I love you Jonas!

Snapping Turtle

So we were driving back for town and we were on this back road that had a lot of sharp turns and stuff. We came to this thing crossing the road and we thought that it was a possum or something like that because they are all over the place here. Well we thought it would run across the road when we got closer but it did not and then we realized it was a turtle. So we pulled over and took some pictures and I asked Jonas if he would move it out of the road so that it did not get run over ( on a side not when we were first married and I was newly pregnant with Baili, we came to a turtle in the road and got out to help it across the street (it was smaller than this one) and we were right to it when a car of stupid teenagers drove past and on purpose ran over the small turtle right in front of us. They knew what were were going to do too. Stupid teenager!) so he was like what if its a snapping turtle? And I told him to just grab it way in the back so that he can't bite you. Well he said OK because I would not take no for an answer and I was sure as heck not going to do it, he went over to it and nudged it with his foot, and BAM!!! it moved like the wind. It was so fast it whipped around and snapped at his foot. And Jonas of course jumped out of the way and walked off. There was no way he was going to mess that it. It was pretty funny to see Jonas jump out like that. Thought I for sure would have done the same. But he was trying to make me happy! That's what counts. That's why I love him.

Fun day at the library

So the library in town here had a summer reading kick off for toddlers. They had some fun games like bean bag toss, duck pond, making a book, and painting with a fly swatter. So here are the girls doing the painting.

In my pocket

We were all watching a movie the other day when Baili stood up from the floor (she had on some sweat pants with no pockets) and said "oh oops I forgot I have "somesing" in my pocket. I said what is it? and she says "in my pocket I have a SPANKEN for daddy" then she walked over to him and spanked him. The she Say "oh yeah and in my other pocket I have a spanken for mommy, and then she came and spanked me. Oh is was so funny and so random. This is not a practice we do in out family.

Friday, May 23, 2008

Baili was supposed to be taking a nap, but did not was to sleep in her bed, she made her own bed and don 't ask me why she thought this would be comfortable but here she is sleeping her heart out and she slept about 3 hours there. Longest nap in forever! She must take after her dad, because he would much rather the floor then the bed. She is funny, but she is also so smart. She knows the letter "B" for Baili of course and she is learning "J" for Jonas and so forth, she will find the letter in the billboards and the store signs while we are driving, she also has very good eyesight because she can spot those letters a mile away.

I love this picture of Kristen. She always is smiling like this, she always sooo happy. She also had just got her cast off her arm and was running free. Though still to this day she will play up that her arm hurts and she will pout a bit, but I can;t say enough how wonderful she is. Just take a moment if you will and enjoy her smile, it will rub off I am sure of it.

way too long

First off I have not fell off of the face of the earth. I have been busy moving into a new house and then unpacking and then kids and then Jonas and then everything it seems, that and I do not have Internet access at my house so I have to check my e-mail here or there and just have not had the time to post I am so sorry. So here you go these are pictures of my garden!!! Yay! Today I went lout and planted all of the plants and everything, but these are my welcoming hands first, they were given to Jonas and I as a wedding gift from his sister Aimee (Love you Aim!) and unfortunately my older daughter Baili pulled them down from a shelf and the broke in 2. Well we had every intention to glue them back but never came to it and kept them for a whole year before Ding! and idea came to mind to put them in my garden, so I dug a spot in the ground for them, and I must say they are ever so welcoming, there forever Will they stay! Below you will see the "Garden House" which is a half storage shed for the tools and then like a little club house for the younger kids to play in and then also a shelter for those spontaneous rain showers we here here. Then you Will see my bench with its Solar lights on either side and in front of that is my garden plot! Isn't it lovely!? So that is my garden and I love it and I am excited about it! I also included a fire pit with 10 lawn chairs to sit around it and a fine bird bath, and bird feeder. I will post more pictures and the season progresses.

can you guess?

So this is a picture off the the brochure of the company Jonas works for. Can anyone guess what it is of? It is a picture of my Garden plot. This plot is big enough to build 2 houses on it, so let me just tell you that my garden does not take up this whole plot. I will be using the bottom 1/4 of it all the way across. That will be my garden. I cannot seem to find my pictures I have taken of my garden up to this point, they are somewhere on my computer and I will have to have Jonas find them for me, so for now this should give you an idea. It will also hopefully keep you in anticipation!

Garden

Well I have been working on starting a garden this spring for about 4 months now. I was asked my the company that Jonas works for to plan and carry out a Community Garden. I was excited to be able to do this, but also keep in mind I have never had my own garden or anything like it. I also never keep plants in my house because I kill them all. So anyways this has been so fun for me, I have a little green house in my kitchen with my early starter plants in them, and then on the garden plot that I designed I have a little garden house being built for storage of tools and then also a small section closed off with a porch for the kids to play at. My garden is huge! It will be 2 20x20 ft plots. I am growing (to list a few) corn, peas, green beans, cucumber, peppers, onions, garlic, carrots, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, lettuce, spinach, strawberries, raspberries. That is not all of them, but I cannot remember them all off the top of my head. I will post some pictures later of my progress. Keep looking throughout the summer for more pictures!

I'm not your cupcake

So the other day, well it has been more like 2 weeks but I still think about it everyday, Jonas was palying with the kids. He said oh my baby Kristen I remember when she was a baby and I would blow in her face and she would laugh and smile and take in a deep breath, I wonder if she would still do that. So he blew in her face and she just laughed but that was good enough for him. Then he said my Baili, I remember when she was a baby and I would blow in her face and it would make her soooo mad! I wonder if she would still get mad, so he blew in her face. She said..."Don't flow on me, I'm not your cupcake." word for word, and no that is not a typo on the word flow, she really said that. She says some funny things.

Daddy Daughter Date

So Jonas took Baili out on their first daddy daughter date last week. It was the cutest thing. I put Baili's hair in curlers and put some blush and sparkles on her face. Then we took her hair out and did it pretty, and put on her evening gown. Oh man she looked like she was 25 which is not to far off from her attitude. When the were ready to go, Jonas picked her up at the front door and had flowers in hand, she was way excited about that, and then off the went. They went and got a treat from the store and then went to the movie Horton Hears a Hoo. She loved it, they got home about 9:00pm and she told me all about it. She loves her dad. As do I. Sadly enough though Kristen bawled at the door for 15 minutes because she wanted to go too. So I made popcorn for us and we watch a Barbie movie. All was well. Kristen is going out with Jonas next week.

2 things

OK So I have 2 things to share, first off I just wanted everyone to know, that I love socks like this, I like the decorated with prints and such. It is fun for me and I enjoy wearing them. My sister-in-law every year from Christmas gives me a bundle of fun printed socks. Well this year she went way out and got my like 25 pairs of socks. I thought she was the best and still so, but anyways, just wanted you to know.

Now, does anything look odd to you in this picture??? If you guessed her arm looks like it is in a CAST, you are right. Last night Kristen fell about 10 feet down and flight of stairs and broker her right wrist. Oh it is a sad and awful day when you witness anything like this, I freaked out screamed and ran to her, she would not move and get up for a minute (stunned and shocked of course) we went to the ER where we spent 10 hours total time between leaving my house and driving an hour and a half there and back and then of course waiting and taking x-rays and such. OHH I wish no one has to go through this with their kids. She is OK and has to wear the cast for a month, she seems like herself in the picture, but let me tell you she has slowed her pace quite a bit.

Easter egg hunt

The Easter egg hunt was today in town at the park. We went to it and had a blast. Here are some pictures, well only 2. Enjoy. This is who we call "Baby Jonas" He is not ours to claim though. Jonas has a really good friend (also his co-worker) who he and his wife decided to name their son after my husband. So this is him, he is just so cute and is very social and lovable. I just thought you would like to see him, he was also at the Easter egg hunt

Here is Kristen with an egg.

Here is my baby Kristen. Who is not so much a baby anymore. In this picture I just got done cutting her hair. Scroll down and you can see her hair was well past her shoulders. Well I had to cut it because she has been chewing on it. SICK! I know. Anyways I could not get her to stop and she wont keep her hair pulled back in a rubber band either, so this was my last resort. I think that it turned out rather cute. She does however look like a totally different person. But she is sooo dang cute.
One last thing, so I got the girls pictures taken while I was visiting in Spokane and I need some help picking out the good ones. I can only pick 3 so please help!!! I defiantly need and want one of the girls with their great grandma. Here is the link, let me know. Thanks!! http://http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=3618572

picture from our trip

Here are my girls at the Navy Pier. This place was so cool. They had so many things to look at here, gift shops, eateries, and shows, which is where we saw the little people

Here I am am. We are downtown Chicago at Millennium park. This is a moving piece of at that is on cables. It is supposed to be used as a swing. (I think).

this is the little Irish people we went and saw, Baili is about to get smooched here.

this is at Lincoln Park Zoo. The girls got to see lots of animals, and we all had a ton of fun there.
So just so you know too, this page took me an hour to figure out how to do. I kept trying to add all of the pictures at once. URG! Anyways thanks to my sista kim I figured it out and for your viewing pleasure are the great pics from our trip.

good times!

Well we are back from Chicago! It was a blast. I have pictures but have not uploaded them to my computer yet. Anyways, it was so fun. Jonas was in a conference the whole time we were there except for at night, so during the daytime I (by myself) took the girls on the subway and bus downtown and went to the ZOO where Baili told me she was observing the Gorillas, she is pretty funny these days. We also saw 2 Giraffes which just so happen to be my favorite animal. The are incredible! We went to a play of Sleeping Beauty. Baili and Kristen both sat through it all and loved it, it was kind of changed to more of a modern day sleeping beauty. The evil fairy was a rapper, it was a blast. The we took another day and went to the navy pier. Not a whole lot was open there with it still being winter and all, but we did get to see some Irish little people puppet things. I don't know what you would call them, but I will post a picture so you can see, they danced and sang songs for the girls. Then we went to an evening if Medieval Times JOnas was able to come with us to this. That was one of the best things I have been to it was so great. There was jousting and sword fighting and we ate a feast on stone plates with our fingers, and there were horses doing incredible things like jumping up in the air off of all four legs and then kicking and doing salsa like dance moves.
I could go on and on. I will post pictures and tell more later.

Now I have done it!

Yay! Here is my new blog, I hope everyone is happy. Actually I am glad about it, I have been wanting to set one up for a while now, and I am glad that I finally did. I can't say there will be to much of interest on here but I am sure I will more enjoy this for reading everyone elses blog.
A quick little bit about me, I am married and have 2 girls. My Husband (Jonas) is the BEST! He works hard so I can be home with our girls. I enjoy a great many things, and I will get into those as the days and the months come. Keep reading and responding.
